About First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church (FBC) was established in 1974 in Madurai by Rev. A. Victor, with the vision of building a church grounded in Biblical teaching and committed in making disciples for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What began as a humble effort, by God’s grace has grown into a ministry that now reaches various parts of India.

Our Journey of Faith

The church started in a small shed in Madurai, with a clear purpose: to help people grow in the Word of God. As the church grew, many developed a deeper understanding of Scripture. Our focus is to teach the Word and also to instill a burden for ministry—equipping and sending individuals to preach the Gospel. For the past 50 years, we have faithfully pursued this mission by sending 21 believers from this church across the country to share the love of Christ through various organizations. From this vision, the First Baptist Mission (FBM) was established, and today 40 missionaries are actively serving in Odisha and Jharkhand under this mission.
